Congratulations to everyone who raced this past weekend at the Crim races and the Wine Trail Half marathon.....it was a beautiful summer weekend to race. Special congrats go out to Alysha Allen who won her age group in the 8k at Crim...way to go Alysha! And thanks also go out again to Dennis Sowinski who lead the group in our absence.
We're always looking for something a little different to talk about on this page and I thought I'd go through my own Crim experience, but rather than bore you with the details I thought I'd jump to the punch line. It's nice going to a race with the group and the camaraderie is great, but when the gun goes off, it's you and the road, plain and simple. Part of the fun of racing is putting all your training to work.....using your head....staying in a positive frame of mind.....pacing yourself.....accepting the curves (or in the case of the Crim, the hills!!) that get thrown at you and celebrating that amazing moment when you finally see the finish line. We encourage you all to choose goal races, but at the same time, don't be afraid to enter other races....you always learn something.....about your training ... about yourself.. Enjoy racing......embrace it!
We're in the process of generating the final PDF training plans that will carry you through to your fall races. Please follow the training listed on the summary for this week....new PDF's will be issued by week's end.
We'd like to start a Photos section on the website so if anyone has any pictures they'd like to have included, please email them to us and we'll add them. We know that many people already do this on FB, but this would be a little more permanent.,
Mo' Run Planning is getting into gear. We appreciate those who've already volunteered to help but we're always looking for volunteers. As we're going to have chip timing and long sleeved technical t-shirts this year, our costs are going up. If anyone knows of businesses / people who'd like to sponsor the race, please let us know....we'll follow up.
Have a great week!
