American Thanksgiving happens on Thursday, so 4 of us are going over to run the Turkey Trot... If you haven't done, yes i know it is during the week, fun one to do...5k, 10k or double drumstick as they call it, you can do both.. nothing like a 15k on a Thursday morning with 15000 of your closest's friends. We are doing the 5k and taking in the sites....and food of the D....maybe sneak in a bit of tailgating,,,,,,
So now that a week has gone by from your event....are you slowly getting into it,,,,, took the full rest that you need...Lined up the next event...lots of options and training plans to back it up... Dennis is the walking guru who will push your paces, as well as, if coming back from an injury, will test your boundaries and offer suggestions... Me,,,,well, I run with you, politely suggest an alternative, pace you, encourage you to slow down or pick up the pace depending what's on tap for that run....Know that training runs are slower than your race runs, tempo runs, speed work....If you work that out in your mind...acceptance is such a powerful thing.... Listen to your body, don't run with people that are faster than you during a training run...then its about them and their pace, not you and yours....Very important piece of your running journey...Company is great on runs, find the one that works for you the day/night....Injuries don't need to happen if you run YOU...
