Well, this week, for me was a eye opener. I discovered, I truly detest rain and running in it. Sprinkle, mist like, SURE but sideways, pouring and windy - apparently NOT and my body says NO. Yes - I am the one that always says, you wont melt, you have to as you never know what race day is going to be like and I am truly proud of all of you who have but I just detest being wet and cold and i can't make myself walk out the door. Truth - I will strive to overcome it.
So I need to bring up a few items. First - we are starting with warmups again before we run. Weather is changing and you all need it as you all start cold when you come to run and your muscles are going to start to protest if they haven't already and this I know for a fact. This is now stated in the schedule. 15mins before. Come, be on time with respect to your body. Second - you may have noticed on the schedule that your 3 coaches have marked themselves each run night to a group. We are dedicated in making sure your runs are quality runs and we want to be accessible to all your questions and comments. Third - Couch 2 5k starts Monday night, Sept 15th with Jackie The very best way to learn what you always wanted to learn. On top of that our Improved group is growing and they want and need our encouragement. Fourth - Do you need a training plan for MoRun. You need to tell us and if you are doing a winter half or ATB (Around the Bay) those will get moving in Nov.
Lastly - Please, Please, Please, respect your body. You are pushing your body to limits where it has never been before or not for a while and not allowing it to rest, recover, stretch, etc. Can't tell you enough - you don't want to end up on the sidelines because you didn't listen to your body. It is the only one you have but there are tons of races out there that you can do. RESPECT.
