Do a SPIN CLASS
RUN on the tread mill
GO to a BOOT CAMP class
WALK instead of the run
WEIGHT LIFT at the GYM
SWIM or RUN in the POOL
ALL of these options are good and it will help your running. The thing you need to avoid is inactivity
REMEMBER - SITTING is the new SMOKING - set your alarm for 30 minutes MAX sitting and when it goes off - go for a walk - do some squats (at your desk) and or jumping jacks. "IF" people think you are crazy - all the better - they will stay away and not give you more work to do!!!
Feb 7th is the HYPO HALF - we have a water station to man at Michigan and Christina Street intersection. I ran by there this AM and unfortunately the Chipican is closed however, I promise that I will find out a way that we can have breakfast that day. I need volunteers, so PLEASE - send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to let me know that you can help. We are at the 3 / 18K mark hence we will need to be there and ready to go at 8AM - Dress warm and brink some noise makers and a smile - lets support the HH runners. I also know a couple of FoF runners are doing it so, we can be "extra" noisy for them??!!
The "5th" annual POHO Hot Chocolate run is also on January 31st . I know this one is popular so - "IF" you are interested - google it and sign up.
My motivation this year, at this time is the Miami Marathon as a qualifier for Comrades on May 29th - so off I go on January 19th to return on January 29th. The Miami Marathon is on the 24th. My goals are #1 finish, #2, finish under 5 hours to qualify for Comrades, #3 finish under 4 hours to satisfy myself, #4 finish upright, smiling, and ready to run again, since Comrades is a 5KM, to which you have to run 2 marathons to get to the start line!!!! SCARY for sure.
