Giving back to the sport that you love is always a good practice and one of our members did that last week. Steve Lane went to Canatara Park and repainted all of the 100 meter marks around the loop - it looks good Steve - thanks so much. I would encourage all of you to find some way to do something similar = help at a race, go running with someone who needs help or encouragement etc.
I am not sure if all of you know Julie Carter however she is a runner and sometimes runs with FoF. She is also a dedicated CAS worker. Julie took it upon herself to start a running group for the children there every Tuesday. Feet on Fire coaches show up to help them loosen up, teach them form and to encourage them - Thanks for getting us involved July
Jackie Jamieson this past week invited me to her work place to talk about running and specifically the C25K program. This was a lunch time presentation which was very well received. We will be having some of Jackie's co workers in our next C25K program starting on the 16th - Thanks Jackie for the introduction.
If any of you have a workplace that could benefit, please just ask us. We are all certified coaches and could introduce our group and coaching style to get people active.
This Monday night some of our last C25K people will be starting their journey to run 5 or 10 KM at the MoRun in November. Although the training plans are not on the web site as yet, the runs for this week are in "This Week at FoF" so you will have this week's training only, until I can get the full plan posted. Please go easy as this is an "improved runner" plan to strengthen you bodies safely and slowly. I am hoping we can convince one of our members to run with you - especially this Monday night?? Anyone please??
