Another good week, albeit with some really cold days!! Never mind - next week that will change = 28 degrees C + from Wednesday on. Sunday June 2nd is the CHOK / YMCA Bridge Race. Maybe it is it time you made a decision and run this one (or run it again) because the Y needs your support. I hope if you are not running, your name is on the volunteer list? ALSO - we are going to Paddy Flaherty's Irish Pub 130 Seaway Rd, Sarnia, ON N7T 8A5 Phone:(519) 336-1999 - on the patio at 10:30 AM - we have a reservation (estimated # right now - so - “IF” you have not let us know how many in your party is joining - please do so)
I used the humility quote this week for a reason - I did my first Triathlon of the season today. There were 200 males in the race - I was 200th - humbling yes - however I still accomplished what I went there to do = #1 finish #2 try out a new bike architecture and set up, and #3 try to conquer my fear of swimming in open water - Hmmm did not quite accomplish the last but moved it along - note to self - practice swimming MORE! - It is not all about winning and setting PB's
First: our website: www.feetonfire.ca.
Second: Commencing June 3rd ,we will not be having our information sessions on Wednesday nights until September. We will ONLY be running on Monday and Wednesday nights at 6pm so MARK it down, you don’t want to be late. (I am trying to arrange an injury talk for a Tuesday night at 5:30 PM = 1 hour - met the person on the weekend - you will enjoy and get good information if you attend - I will post when arranged)
Third: Commencing July 1st, we will start our Saturday morning runs at 7am. We will post all this on the calendar on the website.
We are also planning a summer event in the park: HAVE YOU RESPONDED?
July 27th - we are going to run our Half Marathon Relay and follow it with a BBQ in Canatara Park You need to let us know “IF” you want to take part - “WHAT” your 5K time is (estimate if you don’t know it) - “DO” you want to run 1 or 2 x 2 ½ KM legs of the relay and “WILL” you be staying for the BBQ? Your coaches will make up the teams. Family and Friends welcome (and they are welcome to run if you tell us their 5K time) since you will bring what you want to eat and something to share. FoF will reserve a spot in the park and we should be there early enough to reserve the area we want - last time we started at 7:30 AM and should finish the running around 9:30 AM hence the BBQ will be a brunch and will not take up your whole day (unless you want it to!) Make the subject of your email response “RELAY BBQ”
One last request - we are finished our present training plans - everyone needs to let us know what your next goal is? INFO PLEASE
Have a great week!
