Heading into a hot, hot, humid week. Ideas to keep you cool, such as freezing a wet cloth and wrapping around neck or placing on top of your head with your hat on top and allow it to melt. Wear very light and loose clothing to allow for movement of air flow also freeze grapes, watermelon, cucumbers and adding to your water as this will act as ice cubes and giving a much need boost. Bodyglide everywhere to keep the sweat from pooling and feet burning and blisters to occur. When you are out running with us and you feel any signs of heat stroke, please let us know or whomever is surrounding you.
Run times are 6 pm on Monday and Wednesday, Friday will now be at 6:30am and Saturday and Sunday will start at 7:00 a.m. from On Edge
Training plans have now been rolled out but will start to show up differently next wk. We have had a renew of athletes sign up so please say Hi, draw them into the group, make yourself known to them. There is a new local half marathon that might be of interest to some people. Follow the link below: http://raceroster.com/events/2013/519/London-Ladys-Half-Marathon/?aff=57WCG
Our Training Plans and This Week at FoF pages are now password protected. Each week when the email is sent out letting people know the site has been updated, we'll also issue a new password. We're hoping that this is a fair way to communicate with our clients, but make most of our information available on the site to others. We continue to welcome others to our group runs.
This weekend for myself and 24 ladies which most are FoF athletes are travelling to Lansing to participate in the most talked about event, The Color Run. Our team is called The Crazy Rainbows. We will be in tanks and tutu's (yes, me in a tutu-Patricia's idea) and covered in paint and loving every minute of our 5k run. Take time out of your hard training schedule and have a little fun, It will do the body good.
Have you sent us an email for this great event we are putting on for anyone (meaning - invite others to put in a little competition) our upcoming half marathon relay and barbecue on July 27th. We're hoping to make this a fun event. It's welcome to anyone so bring your family if you are planning to come and have friends who are runners (or at least willing to run 2.3k!) please let them know they're welcome. Anyone can jog that distance
Have a great week!
