Although there are lots of people complaining about the cool weather right now, it's absolutely fantastic running weather....so keep pointing that out to all your non-runner friends :-)

Although it won't be happening until the fall, we'd like to make our members aware of 'Light up the Night for Noelle' a fundraising run in memory of Noelle Paquette. The run will be held on Saturday, October 5th in Canatara Park. You can register for the event on the Running Room event page and here's a link to the poster on Facebook:
One of our goals as coaches is to offer our members new ideas / techniques that can help to improve their running ability. Here's an upcoming opportunity:
Jenny Lindsay, BSc., MSc.PT Registered Physiotherapist from Archway Health and Sport Services, will offer a talk on 'Functional Movememt Systems' to the group. Here's a quote from the functional movement website describing the system:
Put simply, the FMS is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness.
Jenny's talk will be held at On Edge Fitness, on Tuesday, June 25th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. We hope that you can make it! The following links provide useful background material that you should check out if you plan to attend.
