What a GREAT weekend - weather and workouts - hope you all enjoyed it

A little perspective from this old body! After the London Marathon, my knees were really sore due to the mileage I was putting in training for the marathon. Basically I was quad dominate because of all the running. I started to add some weight workouts, cycling (quite a bit of cycling) plus some swimming. The end result is that my knee soreness has completely disappeared! AND the swelling in my right knee is no longer there - so - perhaps it is a good idea to do some other exercise(s) besides running to help balance your body out - it has worked for me.
REMEMBER - Run times are 6 pm on Monday and Wednesday, Friday are now 6:30am with Saturday and Sunday starting at 7:00 a.m. from On Edge
PLEASE try and join us for July 27th - for our Half Marathon Relay and BBQ in Canatara Park Let us know “IF” you want to take part - “WHAT” your 5K time is (estimate if you don’t know it) - “DO” you want to run 1 or 2 x 2 ½ KM legs of the relay and “WILL” you be staying for the BBQ? Your coaches will make up the teams. Family and Friends welcome (and they are welcome to run if you tell us their 5K time) since you will bring what you want to eat and something to share.We will start at 8:00 AM and should finish the running around 10:30 AM hence the BBQ will be a brunch and will not take up your whole day. It is not too late to join and IF you want to do your long run before during and after the relay, you are welcome to work it in - OR - leave the long run until Sunday.
We have new people who have started to run with us - please make them welcome - introduce yourself and find out what they are training for.
ALSO quite a few of our people have been training for Triathlons and Duathlons - some of which will happen on July 20th and 21st - so wishing them all good luck - Judy, Mike, Patricia, Tony, and Julie.
