The other sign of the times is the beginning of the fall racing season. Good luck to our Chicago Marathoners who'll be the first in the group to challenge their races!
And with the exception of the London Women's HM ladies (your turn will come soon), other groups will be starting their well deserved and long awaited taper!! Now that you'll be running shorter distances, please be careful to keep your aerobic runs at true aerobic pace. Particularly as you reach the last week before your event, you'll be starting to feel energized and want to run faster....save that energy for those last few speed work sessions......avoid the temptation and ENJOY the taper. Another reminder here for anyone running one of the Niagara Falls races - if you'd like to attend the dinner the evening before the race, please let us know by email.
We'd like to congratulate all the FoF members who ran and volunteered at 'Light Up the Night for Noelle". There were some great running performances from the group and without the dedication of the volunteers, these events could not happen. Special congrats go out to our C25K 'overachievers' who completed their 5k distance WAY ahead of schedule....nice job ladies! Another one of our members, Jeff Hodgson did an amazing job organizing such a large and complicated event....we hear he's already being scouted to help with other events :-)
A couple of other reminders:
- On Mondays and Wednesdays, warm ups will begin at 5;45, with runs starting at 6:00
- We will now be gathering at the entrance below the Drawbridge on a regular basis. The below grade level door should be open 15 minutes ahead of schedule meeting times.
- We've reverted to the normal schedule on Friday (7:00) / Saturday (8:00) / Sunday (8:00)
- C25K runners - you can now see your training program on our training programs page.
Now that the Light Up the Night for Noelle event is complete, we'll be shifting into high gear to promote Mo' Run Sarnia 2013! You'll be hearing much more about this at our group runs and we'll be asking for your help to promote the run with your co-workers, friends and family and through social media We have great new shirts and medals this year along with chip timing and many more awards. Stay tuned for more info!.
Later this month (October 19th), Dick will be hosting a Chi Running workshop. Anyone who is interested in attending should contact him.
And last but not least, check out our photos section.....several pics have been added....thanks to those who've submitted.
Enjoy your week!
